Will using a Cold Air Inductions, Inc. replacement air filter or intake system void my factory warranty?
No. In the United States, for the manufacturer of a warranted product (in this case, a vehicle) to void or deny warranty coverage of a repair due to the use of an aftermarket part (a Cold Air Inductions, Inc. air filter or intake system), the manufacturer must provide proof (evidence) that the aftermarket part is the cause of the necessary repair. These rights are protected under the Consumer Products Warranty Act of 1975 (also referred to as the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act).
A warranty is a guarantee or promise made by a manufacturer, and is included with their product at no charge when it is sold as new. “Extended Warranties” are not warranties at all, since consumers must pay money to receive their benefits. The proper name for an Extended Warranty is a Service Contract. These contracts may contain exclusions or clauses conditioning their coverages, and these may limit the consumer from using certain products (like aftermarket air filters or performance intakes) on their vehicle. Service contracts are not regulated by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, and once a consumer signs an agreement, they are bound to the terms of that contract. In the event of a vehicle repair, the presence of an aftermarket part (even if it is unrelated to the repair) could void the contract and force the consumer to pay for the repair themselves.
What is your warranty?
Cold Air Inductions Inc. offers a lifetime warranty which states all Cold Air Intake systems to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product. This Warranty shall not apply to any parts that have been subjected to misuse or improper service, that have been damaged in transit or handling, or that have been altered or repaired by anyone or any company other than Cold Air Inductions Inc. This Warranty does not cover defects cause by or resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, acts of God, governmental action or inaction, fires, unavailability of labor, unavailability of materials, unavailability of power, any circumstance beyond Cold Air Inductions, Inc.’s control, and/or damage caused by accident or the failure to provide reasonable and/or necessary maintenance. Any obvious signs of abuse, or any of the aforementioned conditions, will void the warranty in its entirety.
This warranty does not cover items that need to be replaced due to normal wear conditions such as the air filter itself, nor does this warranty void, modify, or alter in any way the warranty which is in place with the customer’s vehicle at the time of purchasing products from Cold Air Inductions, Inc. Air filters are not covered by this warranty unless the air filter has a material defect or defect in workmanship, attributable to product and/or services provided to customer by Cold Air Inductions, Inc.. Normal wear to filter is not covered under warranty. This Warranty is void if the product or any of its individual components is altered or modified by the purchaser, or if the product is used in a manner or with a vehicle not recommended by the manufacturer.
If a Cold Air Inductions Inc. Cold Air Intake system has a product defect due to material deficiencies or defect or workmanship errors, Cold Air Inductions Inc. will either replace or repair, at no charge, any parts or components that are found to be defective. Cold Air Inductions Inc. reserves the right to exclusively decide whether they will replace or repair the unit based off of what is deemed appropriate by a Cold Air Inductions representative. Cold Air Inductions Inc. shall not be responsible for or obligated to pay for freight or other transportation related costs or expenses in connection with any defective products or components that are returned to Cold Air Inductions Inc. facility or any replacement products or components that are shipped from Cold Air inductions Inc pursuant to this Warranty.
How long before my order is shipped?
CAI Inc. tries to have all systems in stock and ready to ship at all times. In some instances when new products are released and/or are in high demand products can occasionally go on backorder. CAI Inc. will do everything to ship your order as soon as possible in the rare case of a backorder.
Will you ship into Canada?
We will ship into Canada for a flat rate fee of $40.00 USD. Canadian shipments most commonly ship via the USPS.
Are your products CARB Compliant?
Cold Air Inductions Inc. sells products throughout the United States, as well as internationally, however our products are not CARB Certified. Our company has looked into getting our products CARB certified but unfortunately the costs heavily outweigh any benefits. Many aftermarket parts on the market are not CARB Certified and are listed in the fine print as intended for “off-road use only”.
How are your items shipped?
CAI Inc., ships orders within the U.S. via UPS Ground or Fed Ex Ground. The shipper is chosen by both pricing as well as reliability in getting your item to your door undamaged. CAI Inc. reserves the right to change shipping companies based on what we feel will provide the best service to both our company and our customers, currently the majority of our shipments are sent UPS. All Intake systems are shipped in sturdy and professional packaging.
How do I clean or recharge my CAI Inc. High Performance Oiled Air Filter?
**Before starting ensure to use the proper safety precautions such as gloves and safety glasses. ONLY A CAI INC. BRAND RECHARGE KIT SHOULD BE USED ON CAI INC. OILED FILTERS**
Step 1. Remove – Remove the filter from your vehicle and ensure that no dirt or other debris enters the intake tube while the filter is off.
Step 2. Pre-Clean – Using your hand and/or compressed air (no more than 100 psi using a standard air nozzle) remove the larger visible debris from the outside of the filter. When using compressed air keep the nozzle at least 6” from the filter media.
Step 3. Clean – Spray the outside of the filter with the supplied CAI Inc. cleaning solution until the entire outer filter media is evenly saturated. Allow the filter to rest so the solution can soak in for 15 minutes.
Step 4. Rinse – Rinse the Filter with warm water by running the water from the clean side of the filter thru to the dirty side of the filter, so that the water can flush the dirt out and off of the filter.
Step 5. Dry – Allow the filter to air dry naturally. (DO NOT use heat sources in attempt to dry the filter faster as this may damage the filter media fibers and/or shrink them.)
Step 6. Oil – Once dry, apply the supplied CAI Inc. oil solution to the outside of the filter media using 1 spray for every 2 square inches of filter media. DO NOT OVER OIL
Step 7. Dry – Allow oiled filter to dry for 30 minutes so that oil can soak into and “recharge” the filter media. You should be able to handle the filter without the oil coming off on your hands, once this is the case your filter is ready to be reinstalled.
Step 8. Reinstall – Properly reinstall your recharged filter and make sure all connections are tight.

Will using “aftermarket’ or recycled parts void my warranty?
No. An ‘aftermarket’ part is a part made by a company other than the vehicle manufacturer or the original equipment manufacturer. A ‘recycled’ part is a part that was made for and installed in a new vehicle by the manufacturer or the original equipment manufacturer, and later removed from the vehicle and made available for resale or reuse. Simply using an aftermarket or recycled part does not void your warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act makes it illegal for companies to void your warranty or deny coverage under the warranty simply because you used an aftermarket or recycled part. The manufacturer or dealer can, however, require consumers to use select parts if those parts are provided to consumers free of charge under the warranty.

Shipping to and from Cold Air Inductions is at the customer’s expense and varies according to weight, size, shipping type and location.
Returns & Replacements
Cold Air Inductions is dedicated to customer satisfaction. If your purchase does not fulfill your needs for any reason, you can return your item for an exchange or refund no later than 30 days from the date of purchase. Simply contact us to receive instructions on returning your purchase. The following conditions apply: Shipping is non-refundable* (Item must be repacked according to factory standards & without excess wear. Cold Air Inductions Inc. shall not be responsible for or obligated to pay for freight or other transportation-related costs or expenses in connection with any defective products or components that are returned to Cold Air Inductions Inc. facility or any replacement products or components that are shipped from Cold Air inductions Inc pursuant to this Warranty. All returns are subject to a restocking fee that can be up to 15% of the item’s original purchase price, excluding any discounts or promotions applied. Items that are received damaged, incomplete, or determined to be used or in unsellable condition as deemed by a Cold Air Inductions Inc, representative are not subject to a refund.
